She could tell that he was struggling to stay calm and wanted him to be able to look back on this later so he could realize that it was possible for him to work through his emotions to find that center. He had to stop using others as a way of justifying how he felt, whether it be by attacking old enemies or by poking at the Gods, and she was hopeful that between her and his therapists they'd be able to help him get to the point where he'd know how to react when he was feeling his highest of highs and lowest of lows. Of everyone she knew, Hephaestus had been through enough to already excel at the lessons she wanted Achilles to learn, and although she had not asked Hephaestus his feelings before involving him she had faith that he would understand her position.
