Terpsichore had enjoyed the movie more than she'd be willing to let on to Achilles. It was really, really good, and would probably be nominated for a few Oscars come the season, but her stubborn pride wouldn't let her feed the demigod's ego any more by saying so. Time and tide would do that for her, she figured.
The premier itself had been awesome -- being temporarily in the spotlight was kind of glorious, and a taste of something she had always denied herself. It wouldn't do to become famous and never age, after all, but one day of flashing lights was harmless. Nobody was taking her picture anyway, as she was a nobody dating a nobody, except for a few fashion rags snapping photos of her dress. She'd almost worn the gorgeous evening gown that Belial gave her all those months ago, but her pride wouldn't allow it, especially when she was pretty sure he was stalking her. It had been easy to put on this beautiful cocktail dress and a pair of heels, easy to doll herself up and look gorgeous. It was harder to convince herself to leave the comfort of her apartment dressed like that, and harder still to spend an hour carefully covering each and every scar painstakingly with heavy concealer. They spiderwebbed thinly over her neck, arms, chest, back, and legs, some still red, thick, and raised- Ate's handiwork long still evident. But she refused to let that fucking bitch dictate her life, and soldiered on in spite of it all.
She considered this premier a personal victory. It had been four hours, and she'd only had to leave the theater twice during the more violent scenes. She hadn't even thrown up.
Progress.
At the afterparty, she found herself even more at ease than before. She'd stopped to give Clio a quick kiss on the cheek, of course, but was enjoying meeting the various celebrities and getting people to dance. Her boyfriend Patrick was having a good time, too, especially since Terpsichore just smiled indulgently when he tried hitting on various actresses in attendance.
After about half an hour, she abandoned Patrick on the dance floor to go get some punch.
