The park had a calming quality to it, one that soothed her spirit. Perhaps it was an after-effect of breaking her fast and having finished her prayers but she always felt closer to Allah when she came here. Despite the noises from the city, she imagined something similar to this had been the famed hanging gardens of Babylon. She had never seen them, only heard rumors of them, so she contended herself with something she thought a modern equivalent of them.
With a happy sigh she glanced around, taking a seat on a bench and settling her veil around her. This was a day meant to be enjoyed, even though with the sun having set it meant the day was dying. Long ago, she had almost dreaded the setting of the sun, for it meant she would only have a few brief hours to fight for her life. Now, it only represented the promise of another day.
