Now that the weather was getting nice again and things seemed to be working their way towards a more even keel, Thetis was feeling as though seeing Achilles would be a good idea. Accepting his invitation, she was pleased when he suggested Central Park as a meeting place. She had always loved being around the trees and flowers, and figured they could enjoy the fresh air while they spent some time together catching up. She had been worried about him, more than usual considering how he had reacted to the idea of her potentially dating, and hoped that their brief time apart had given him some clarity.
Walking through the park to meet him, she took her time as she considered how far they had both come from the days of old. He was learning restraint, and to curb his temper, and she was learning not to acquiese to his demands as easily as she had in the past. While she still wanted what was best for him, but she had learned to stop bending over backwards to make things happen for him when she had misgivings about it. Just because in the past she had prostrated herself before the gods to help him attain further glory didn't mean she had to now, especially with things having changed to such a degree. She would, of course, help him as best she could, but he had to learn to do things for himself and to treat others with the respect they deserved.
Catching sight of him, recognizable as her son even with a hat obscuring part of his face, she waved as she approached. He seemed to be in good spirits, and she hoped he wouldn't hold her decision to take some time away against her. Sitting down next to him she smiled softly, blinking in the sunlight. "Good afternoon, I hope the day finds you well."
