"Mani is not the only moongod though." She answered him with a soft sigh and a gentle shake of her head. "There are others. Selene and I, Arma, Khonsu, Tsuki-Yomi and more." Hecate shook her head slightly and then reached up again, as if to touch the moon. "It's beautiful. Isn't it?" Her pale eyes turned towards Hati and a faint smile curled at the edges of her mouth. "I can see why you'd want to chase, catch and swallow it for your very own." Her fingers recede then and gently fondle the stone at her throat, moonstone, and that too was beautiful. "That is the way of Prophecy." she agreed. "It will be."
"Isn't it though?" she asked, semi distracted as she looked back into the water below them. "To jump into the darkness and fall towards the sky. Then a ripple stirs and reminds me that I was never meant for that." She looked back up at him and saw the gentleness reflected in his eyes, like the sky in the dark waters. She lifted her hand and fitted it gently, cupping his jaw and yet never quite touching, perhaps afraid to touch, yet the heat from her hand surely feels as if she does that very thing.
