The only surprise that might come from the turn of events was that at one point he did know her habits and she was a creature of habit, often enough. Perhaps he was right and it was time to wander the crossroads and see who she meets upon them. It did seem somehow right that she had met Hati. Most of their meetings had been coincidence such as this and that too seemed right.
There was a time when her voice could have been heard through such speakers, perhaps it still was, now and again. Hard guitars and fast drums mingled well with the haunting tones that she produced when she sang. She was never one for crowds and spotlights though. No, instead she far preferred the solitude and darkness found in the backseat of a cab that was eerily quiet despite the music from the radio. Her heart gave a faint skip as he sped up, eyes closing to enjoy the sensation of motion, the press of the world around her, pushing her back into her seat. She had been the one he had chased, but she had never accompanied him on it. It was different and exhilarating and somehow she had to express that it meant much to her that she was welcome upon this nocturnal run. She reached then and touched, ever so softly, laying her cool, gentle hand upon his shoulder, but only briefly. The touch was fleeting,as they all were.
"I'm flattered you would want me with you on your journey for a long time." she answered him and then shifted, leaning forward to rest her forearms upon the back of the seat. "Triodia and not Volva this time?" He could drive them off of a bridge, and perhaps for a time they might fly across the sky, but eventually they would have to come down. "I shall eventually wish to go home. I will stay with you until you are ready to deliver me there though." She found herself seeking his eyes again in the mirror and for a moment, for a moment, images of sharp teeth and dark bare branches flickered through her mind.
