As her pregnancy progressed further along towards her due date, Echo had become more aware of herself and everything around her. Much as it may not have been visible to Narcissus or anyone else who spent time with them, she could see the differences between the man she had first fallen for as compared to the man she was now living with, and while she would never admit it out loud those changes had become a large part of what was keeping her from running off and doing something stupid. The sudden and awkward shift in her love for him, a love that was still definitely present but not as intense as she knew it had once been, had been messing with her head far more than she wanted it to but she was determined to work through this situation no matter what so that she could make sure that things turned out best for everyone involved. While he had only recently admitted that he could never fully love her due to the curse that he had been afflicted with she had latched onto that as the sticking point to hang her faith that they could grow to be exactly what each other needed in enough time for their son to have the upbringing he deserved.
Laying on their bed with one hand lightly caressing the growing bump that housed their child, she could hear him as he came inside with the dogs and smiled at the welcome racket they were making. For a moment she felt bad about the fact that she hadn't been feeling up to helping out with the dogs, but she knew that if she had tried Narcissus would have just given her a look until she went back to relaxing. Honestly, Echo oftentimes was stunned by just how closely he seemed to be watching out for her lately. She had become so accustomed to taking care of herself even while living with him that the surge of over-protectiveness he had begun to display made her feel just a little overwhelmed since she could tell it was out of genuine concern for both her and for Bastian.
Attempting to move when the door opened, she waved at Narcissus after giving up on getting herself into a more upright position. She knew that her stomach was getting ridiculous, he didn't have to say anything for her to know he had noticed. "Keeping his mother awake." she repeated, pouting slightly while reaching for him. Whatever it was affecting her didn't change the affect his presence had on Bastian, which was a huge relief considering her fears that Eros had shot her or something worse.
