Who: Snow Lion, Zerachiel What: Guardian angel meets someone who doesn’t need guarding Where: One of many parks in NYC When: Monday evening Warnings: None
It had been some time since Zerachiel had seen anyone he knew….not since Duma had shown up with that lovely picnic basket of hers. It had been just as long since he had slept on anything resembling a bed. The bench he was currently sitting on suited him just fine for that purpose, and as long as he wasn’t bothering anyone and was in the area, he’d likely make use of it a couple more times. Grown men sleeping on park benches wasn’t particularly welcomed by anyone, and if he was chased off he would go, but Zerachiel usually managed fairly well.
There were young twins living nearby who were decidedly in need of someone to watch over them, and Zerachiel had, all day long. He would tomorrow, as well. After that, he’d likely find someone else who could use some help. There was never any shortage of people like that.
Leaning back against the bench, Zerachiel was about to close his eyes and take a deep breath when he saw a kid. A boy? He thought it was a boy, though sometimes with children it wasn’t immediately clear. Of course……there was also that feeling, the one that all sorts of beings gave off……everyone from angels to demons. Not just a child….but still a child. The archangel could no more dismiss a child than he could accept a demon in his presence.
Keeping quiet, and still, Zerachiel watched the boy, curious about what he was doing in this park at this hour.
