Dionysus had traveled to Vegas to recharge. After the blow of losing and regaining Apollo, the presence and lack thereof throwing his mood off kilter. They're connection was much like that of magnets, and with one off, the other lost it's touch. Dionysus had already started to set into his unpleasant mood, and the temperate affection of his wife had just thrown him off balance even further. He adored her, loved her, but it had been a while since he had been used to her. It added to his state of confusion, and Vegas like always pulled in all the interests of a lively god. Bright lights, beautiful people, and enough energy to wrap around him like a tight rubber band.
Mania had seized upon that weakness, sucking out his energy in their very antagonistic relationship. She worked for him as much as she did against him, and in this instance he had to get away. He needed to feel his own air in his lungs again and not so stifled by everything that pushed against him. Dionysus was an old god, and he had his flavor, but even he needed to reconnect with what made him so vivacious--and in the course of these last few months he'd lost it.
In this time away however, he found that the thing he most longed for was the comfort of his wife. Her soft face, delicate hands and golden hair still tickled his cheeks pink at the thought of. When that finally hit, while he had piles of chips laid out on the poker table, he knew it was time to go back to the city. Piling his winnings into a messenger bag, he bailed out and retrieved his winnings with a bright smile on his face. He wasn't the only one leaving out the door as he bounced out into the street, down the sidewalk. The group of men that tailed behind him had watched him all night, winning easily, sucking in the energy of the people at the table. This fruity guy had been there for weeks, and now was the time to strike.
