Physics didn’t even try to talk his granddaughter out of clinging to her mother’s leg. Even if he’d been the type to try to do so, that wasn’t a grandfather’s job. He was more than happy with discussing whatever it was she wanted to talk about, and with investigating anything she was interested in.
The zoo itself interested him as much as anything else ever did. It was full of people, animals, and all the delightful things that happened when any of them were anywhere. Things to see, things to think about. It never ended.
The goat in front of them was no different, though he did have to agree with Izzy - it did smell. Not a smell he’d particularly characterize as pleasant, either. Crouching down, Physics looked the goat in the face - as much as he could look a goat in the face when the animal in question was busy looking for what Physics guessed was something to eat.
“Hey. Goat.” He wasn’t expecting much of a response, but coming down to the goat’s level was, apparently, the way to get a response. It stepped forward and started nosing around Physics’ hands and shirt, almost pushing him over in its enthusiasm. Physics had to laugh a little. “I didn’t think I’d be that interesting to you.”
