Labels were wonderful little things. Deceive the world with a word or three, mislead consumers with images of green hills and riverbanks, destroy minority groups with a derogatory stereotype - it was always the little things that went unnoticed by everyone that had the biggest impact in their small world, but no one learned from old, painful lessons.
So they were working on the assumption that if you really had no idea what something should be like, there would be others around to tell you so, to reassure, to confirm, to incorporate you into the world of pretend and let you in on the game. There was a malleable system in place that could withstand, absorb and incorporate everyone and everything.
"If I carved out a little pocket of anarchy and gifted that little world to you, what would you do with it?" No games, and it certainly wasn't an outrageous idea. Capitalism could do anything with a snap of his fingers - it was a hypothetical question solely because it was an awkward paradox to be caught up in.
