Daphne felt nervous herself, but was doing her best to suppress it. Knowing Eros might come, just didn't help. She had every urge to run and hide, just in case he decided he wanted to toy with her again. She had enough issues of her own thanks to his curse.
But this was Echo's day, so she focused on that. She had known Echo needed a distraction, so she'd allowed her sister to pick out her dress. Daphne herself cared little of fashion, so she'd hoped it had worked.
She set down one of the last bowl of snacks and moved to Echo and her friend. Without pause she pushed a glass of water in her sister's hand, with a look that clearly said to just relax. Echo might be older (even if they weren't totally sure about that), but now Daphne would make sure Echo's day was going well, and she didn't strain herself.
She gave Echo's friend a smile (she'd forgotten his name, but she was determined to be nice. She didn't like men, but neither did she hate them. she was perfectly capable of being friends with them), "make sure my sister doesn't strain herself. I have everything under control." With that she leaned down and set a kiss on her sister's cheek.
With a wink she left them alone, ready to play host.
