Who: Layla and Glibt What: Layla is feeling in need of a little rant When: Saturday Morning Where: Glibt's office at work Warnings: None!
Why was it that her summer months always seemed to turn out like a scene from a Spike Lee moment? Layla couldn't remember the last time she'd taken a vacation that hadn't turned into something out of Do the Right Thing, and her latest trip to DC wasn't any exception. How had a simple trip so see a few of her Delta Sigma sorority friends turned into a such a shitstorm? Well, she certainly couldn't blame Shirley Sherrod. And blaming the neo-cons did very little-- with so much anger thrown in their direction on a daily basis, Layla could only assume they'd become like ducks and water, with the insults simply rolling off their backs. She also didn't want to blame the Administration. She couldn't help the way she was always so goddamned reluctant to blame Obama for anything. So what was the alternative?
"Fucking spineless, pussy, jackass of a man. I cannot believe, I carried his children."
"I'm sorry?"
The unfortunate employee who had the pleasure of leading Layla towards Harvey Stonewall's office received only a glare from the goddess that clearly said, 'mind your own business'.
She'd meant it when she'd told her brother about her packed week at court. They'd shared a wonderful breakfast Tuesday morning, and Layla had assumed that was the only time they'd have time to see each other for the week. They were both busy. But, as always, Layla was able to magically make room for a good vent when she was angry, especially when she was angry with The Democratic Party. Having not heard from her sister, Feminism, Layla planned on turning her rant on her other brother-sometimes-sister-- even given their current relationship. If she didn't she knew she would explode, and it wasn't as if she could scream at Malcolm. Mark was (unfortunately) the boy's father, and she had to respect that.
Tapping her foot, Layla waited for the staffer to knock on Harvey's door and announce her presence. The younger mortal wasn't moving fast enough for her own liking.
