It was surprising to see what Achilles had made of himself since there last meeting, Thetis searching his face for the signs of the boy she once raised as she made her way over to where he was seated. There was something off about him, as though something had broken inside him, making her wonder the same thing she was certain he had been thinking - had she waited too long? Deep down, she honestly believed that her presence could help her son, no matter how great the situation. He had managed to last this long without her since they last parted ways, but her desire to see him live his own life separate of her influences had been countermanded by the recent reports of law suits and trouble with his movie. How could she not run to his side with everything he was dealing with?
When he spoke, she stopped in her tracks, tense fingers clutching at the purse she was carrying. He was hurt, angry. She should have expected this, even a might warrior needed his mother from time to time. She hadn't wanted him to become to dependent upon the idea of her interventions on his behalf, and as such chose to limit her contact. Even now, she worried he'd assume she came to clean up his messes, which was something she wasn't sure she could do.
Taking a seat, her back stiff as she felt her eyes fill with tears, she composed herself as best as possible while she considered his words. He claimed she was late, obviously expecting her, however that was not the conversation she wanted to have at this time. A slight smirk crossed her features as she pointed to his clock.
"Actually, I never told your employee when I would be stopping by..." she demurred, aware this was not the answer he was seeking. "Are you busy, I could come back later if you prefer."
