"I like the way you look," she replied almost immediately. And if he had asked, Salvia would have told him the truth; it was comforting to see her brothers in him. Maybe that was part of why he was her best friend. She slipped her arm around his shoulder so that she could give him a hug to emphasize her words.
"I am illegal in some places, I think," she mused thoughtfully. "But I just will not go to those places. I think that is the best choice. You shouldn't go either." Any state where she was illegal couldn't possibly be a kind place, Salvia was convinced.
She took the cigarette she'd offered Dylan and fumbled around for her red and black lighter. "I rolled this one myself," she announced proudly. "There's some salvia, and some marijuana, and some tobacco. Cigarettes aren't really bad for you, you know. It's just because they put bad things in the ones in the stores."
