The fact that American's felt like they needed to designate certain days specifically to celebrate one's parents frankly amused Hymenaios, however the excuse it provided couldn't be ignored. While his father wasn't exactly 'father of the year' material he was leagues better than Ares (at least, from what Hymenaios had heard from Eros) and deserved some respect.
