On the other hand Echo had spent those same weeks going through a range of emotions. She'd been considering some of the things that Apollo, Gaia, and Twila had said to her, confronting the fact that her love for him might not be enough to base a family around, and finally Echo was debating the merits of limiting Bastian's time with him. It had become evident, thanks to his taking off without warning, that Narcissus apparently wasn't as responsible or trustworthy as he claimed he'd be. Truthfully, she wanted him to somehow become a good boyfriend and father, but she knew by now how unlikely that was.
She had been laying on the couch when she heard the car pull up, trying to get in a quick nap. She knew that she should let him in, but Bastian's foot was lodged against her ribcage while he had decided to use her bladder as a pillow, and quite frankly she couldn't be arsed to move.
Mentally whining at the knock, Echo carefully got up. Wearing one of his button-down shirts, no pants since she wasn't going anywhere, she attempted to tame her unruly hair as she pulled the door open and headed back to the couch.
