Who: Bast and Open Where: Random Cafe in NYC When: Wednesday, early afternoon. Rating: "PG" will be upped as needed.
Bast couldn't believe that the company she had put so much heart into went up in smoke the way it did - first they were only going to let off a few people, then it developed into whole departments, and then the whole franchise was shutting down. It wasn't like she needed to work; but the enjoyed keeping busy and out of people's hair. Being without a job depressed her somewhat; mostly because she had helped it evolve from this unknown company into a promising company. That was until a few months ago and before the economy started getting bad. She hated to bother people and ask them for jobs, she was a big goddess and needed to do things on her own. She always thrived for some independence and now that she finally had it she didn't know what to do with it.
Running a hand through her hair, Bast began flipping through the news paper that was laying in front of her - Anubis had offered her a job at his funeral home and she would love nothing more than to work with him, but she often felt like she depended upon him too much. Bast didn't want to come across as though she were mooching off him or anything like that. Thinking about it just upset her more and it wasn't going to help her find a job and possibly stop denying how she felt about him. Hopefully she would be able to find some promising jobs in the news paper. If she was unable to find any, then she would check on the internet, and if all else failed she would ask Anubis if the job he offered her was still open.
When the door to the cafe opened up, a chill filled the small area and Bast pulled her coat around her body tighter and sunk into her seat more. There was one thing she couldn't understand and that was why she had decided to live in such a cold climate. It was nice in the summer time because it didn't get too hot but the winters were so brutal. She picked up her cup of hot chocolate and took a drink of it before she set it down and pulled a pen out from her pocket to circle a job that looked promising to her.
