"The bold explorer routine." Lifting one of the bags out, Jamie slung it over his shoulder and carried the other one in his left hand. He gave the car another glance before he locked it and wandered over to the elevator, giving Izzy a light pat on the head.
He wasn't particularly keen on physical contact and it had taken him a while to get used to the fact that babies were and that they weren't concerned with cleanliness. They didn't care if their hands were covered in spit when they pawed at your face or if you'd just put on a fresh shirt when they burped up milk onto your shoulder. They just didn't.
It was slightly better now. Constantly reminding the little girl of what she could and couldn't do and her understanding it - most of it even though she chose to ignore it more often than not - was immensely helpful. During the elevator ride, she made fish faces at the mirror and did a good job at leaving perfectly shaped prints of her hands behind.
