Wow. They had a history - they actually did. And for someone who lived for a long, long, long time, that actually meant something.
Ares had a hard time focusing on all that was being said. Maybe he just didn't have the attention span or wasn't the listening type, or maybe it was too difficult to hear someone recount a long list of things they apparently did together and not be able to remember a single moment of it.
He had learned at this point that people normally shook their heads, gave a sad-looking smile and apologised, and maybe at some point the older version of Ares would, but it seemed strange to force out all these emotions which he could only copy and never really understand.
