Adonis nodded in agreement, looking around at the various influential mortals milling around the hall, recognizing senators, congressmen... was that a pop star? He wasn't sure, but he felt like a celebrity amongst this crowd. "Maybe I'll manage a perfect record tonight," He said, a hopeful little smirk on his face. He would try his best, but you never really know. The contingent of Greeks just added to the anxiety of the night and he just wanted them gone.
Adonis saw... well, he wasn't sure what exactly it was, but there was something in Jord's eyes that almost took his breath away and for a moment, he wanted nothing more than to be able to lean down and press his lips against hers. Like a good boy, he refrained, but let the desire in his eyes be plain to see. "I'll shine all the brighter then," He replied, but the moment had left and he tore his eyes away from her with regret.
The waiters began to spread across the hall and Adonis led Jord over to their seats again, pulling out the chair for her. Checking on the Greeks briefly, he was glad to see that from where he was sitting, he could watch their movements and react quickly if they decided to come over here and bother him. This was supposed to be Jord's night, it was supposed to belong to her and no rude immortals, even the Fates themselves, should be allowed to ruin it for her. He had selfish reasons as well, but he did think that they all had better things to do than run and blab to Zeus about his presence outside the Underworld. "So, when do you give your speech?" He asked once they were seated, pouring them both another glass of champagne.
