Jord was resting against the table when the doors opened and her escort walked through. She stood then, back straightening to bring her to her full height, a proud smirk spreading across her lips as she took in his appearance. He had cut his hair...she liked it. There was no doubt in her mind why Gucci had chosen him for their campaign; it was difficult in that moment to think of another man who looked better in one of those tailored suits. The goddess let him come to her, catching the moment that his eyes betrayed him, a surge of something like confidence coursing through her veins. Letting him lift her hand, her smirk widened into a smile, genuine and with a secret slipping behind her eyes. "Thank you, Mr. Islington..." she murmured, slipping her arm through the one he offered and resting one pale hand against his forearm. "I'm quite relieved that you're here. I fear your spoiling me with good conversation...it's getting more and more difficult to hold conversations with normal people."
Nodding toward the door to the ballroom, she let him lead through those filigree doors, men in suits on either side opening them before the pair. Jord smiled to them and nodded, the Grand Ballroom unfolding before their eyes. "I'm sure that you can see...why I chose this place..." she said, just loud enough for him to hear. "Despite all it's polish and perfection, it reminds me of the halls of old..." Her smile grew, a surge of power coming from the few people who were already in the room, milling about.
An older man approached them, someone Adonis might have recognized if he followed politics on the news. "Beautiful event as usual, Ms. Raghnall..." he said, a shrewd smile on his face. "A little bird told me you might be speaking tonight...can I get a confirmation on that?"
"I suppose you might by the end of the evening..." she said, returning his smile with a sly one of her own.
He made a face and his eyes fell on Adonis. "Oh! The might Jordin Raghnall finally brought an escort, hmm? Who is this young man? He looks familiar..." The goddess let her blue eyes slip over to her companion, giving him the opportunity to introduce himself. She was sure that he would understand, even if he didn't recognize the man, that he was important. Incredibly important, actually, a senator of New York itself. Jord could have introduced him, but she wanted to allow him to shine in his own right, now just as the eye candy on the arm of the director of operations. It would be an injustice to do anything else.
