As her living situation was so often very fluid and undefined, mostly changing from shitty apartment to street and back again depending on how recently she had been fired from her latest job, Cassia often found herself wandering the streets.
This particular Thursday she was doing precisely that-- specifically the streets of upper Manhattan, almost in the Bronx. She found it difficult to pay attention to the people surrounding her; their faces all blurred together, until they were one seething conglomerate mass of life. Therefore, she paid more attention the signs, where the letters were at least somewhat fixed and she could stare at them until they disentangled into something decipherable.
Images on signs, however, were distinguishable more or less instantly, and the redheaded woman sitting on the green bottle was a very recognizable sign. Hope swelled in Triphop's chest as she snatched the poster off the telephone pole it was stapled to- it had been forever since she had really truly had absinthe, and not the absente substitute that tasted of petroleum. She stopped suddenly, forcing some people to ricochet off others to avoid crashing into her, and after a moment's squinting realized that the poster did not, in fact, advertise absinthe, but that it was seeking artists to play at a cafe named after the drink.
Well, that was fine too, she supposed.
Cassia reread it three times until she could figure out what the address said, and then dreamily, hazily started off for it, her movements slow and coordinated. (And coordinated only because they were slow.) Eventually she made her way to the address, and looked up at it somewhat confusedly before entering... which unfortunately led only to more confusion. It didn't look like any cafe she'd ever seen. Desperately she cast around for someone to explain, waving the poster weakly.
