That wasn't a secret, but it wasn't something that someone who didn't know him would just say. It made Ares stop glaring at him like that, but at the same time he didn't know if he was curious about the stranger just yet.
"Why do you care."
He was irritated, but he had forgotten what being irritated looked like. He had forgotten what a lot of faces were supposed to look like, and it was easier to stop pretending, so he stopped bothering with them.
Maybe he'd forgotten who everyone was, too. It would come back to him - names were on the tip of his tongue, and eyebrow twitches were starting to feel normal - but everything still felt distant.
