Admittedly, Apollo knew full well he had no reason to feel hurt or slighted by other people's interpretations of the situation with Daphne. Only he and the nymph knew for sure what happened, and once both became aware of the part Eros played in everything they resolved to work through it. Apollo refused to let the past dictate his future, and thankfully Daphne seemed to feel the same. Between that, and the support of those who cared for him, he was working through it.
"I'd feel badly for him," Apollo started, shrugging slightly. "However it's hard for me to not feel a measure of justification now that he's finally getting his comeuppance. Maybe he'll even learn something from this."
