While Indie was standing there looking utterly suspicious, Emo had reached over and taken Johnny's hand in one of his for a moment, taking a very long drink from the glass he'd been brought with the other in order to keep himself from preempting his own daughter and saying something that would affirm he knew more than he was supposed to let on he knew. And Johnny was just silent - unsurprisingly. He wasn't one for words (neither was Indie, for that matter, but that didn't stop him sometimes) and since there was nothing to say right now, there was no reason for any of them to open their mouths and say anything that was unnecessary.
Twee shook her head, drawing Apollo over to the chair where she was sitting and nudging him towards it. She could still sit down next to him if she wanted to, but right now she'd rather stand. "I haven't told them anything yet," she said, "I was waiting for you."
She knew that she might as well just out with it now, because there was no way that their suspicions hadn't taken the best of them. If Twee had brought a man over to make an announcement to her family, there was only a very small handful of things it could possibly be. Maybe they were still in denial or already processing the shock, but for some reason the silence was killing her. She wished someone would just say something - yell at her or something - just to break the silence. And she hadn't even come out with it yet.
"So I suppose there's no sense in wasting any time..." she said with a deep breath. "Apollo and I have been seeing each other very casually, neither of us have any desire to make our relationship anything more than it is now. That said, things are a little complicated right now. But he's completely amazing and the sweetest, most giving man I've ever met outside of my own family and he treats me better than I could want..."
"Twila, just spit it out already..." Indie said, voice not quite sharp enough to be annoyed, but he was certainly on his way there.
Twee swallowed hard and averted her gaze to the floor. "I'm going to have a baby... in about six and a half months."
