Triteia had wanted to chase after her father, had wanted to help him find her grandfather. Wanted, wanted, wanted.
But he'd ask her to look after her poor grandmama and Amaterasu - even though she suspected that the Lady Sun was there to watch over Triton's family and make sure the daughter didn't do anything rash - so she'd stayed. Had tried to hide her restlessness and frustration to the best of her abilities and tried to be a normal person.
Then Highways had suddenly appeared and then grandmama had woken up but and then Triton said he would return. So she'd stayed and waited. Between spending time at Poseidon's house and exploring the island with Lincoln, the days had passed a little faster than before. In the few hours when she wanted to be alone, she'd wandered over to the Ocean King's piece of land and thought about possible layouts for a garden.
In the past week, the nymph had even begun to make small sketches and scribbled notes on the margins. A rolled up sheet of paper in her hand, she approached the house she was sharing with Amaterasu - her grandmama had decided to stay on the beach some time ago - and stopped when she saw a man walking towards the front door.
"Papa?" she said, too quiet to be heard, but then she began to run towards Triton, crumpling her drawings in her fist when she threw her arms around him.
"You're back! I'm so glad you're back!" Burying her face against his chest, she clung to him like she used to when she was little.
