Who: Apollo and Daphne What: The nymph meets the god who once chased her Where: Central Park, near Querry's tree When: Sunday afternoon Warnings: TBD
Daphne was scared. So frightened by the sheer prospect of meeting a God who had once chased her until she had become a tree that all she wanted to do was run and hide again. But times where different now, and now she knew why she had ran. And she was determined enough to hear him out. Eros had cursed him, cursed them both, and she felt disdain for him where he may not deserve it. She might fear and loathe him, but she hated Eros more for taking away her free will. She would, had to, do this. If he earned her disdain, or not, she could go on with her life. And then a few questions could be answered.
Had she taken her vow out of free will or because Eros had tampered with her emotions? Did her disdain for men come from that arrow inside her heart, or did she feel this way out of her own will? And most importantly, had Leucippus deserved his fate? He had betrayed her in a way that was still unforgivable, had tricked her. But she had loved Oene. Loved the 'girl' deeper then she had loved her other companions. She had felt no disdain then. All questions she hoped this visit would answer.
And in a way, she could show her Patron Goddess strength. If she could do this, and come through stronger, she hoped Artemis would look onto her and be proud of Daphne. She took a breath to find her resolve and sat down on the snow near the tree she hoped to speak to on another occasion. The snow was starting to melt, and Daphne was not too bothered by the cold. This Park was a pale imitation to her home, but it was calming enough. She set her hands on her lap, to hide the tremble she felt, and waited.
