"I think the battery's flat," Ryan commented. He had a rough idea of where his phone was, but yeah - it would involve digging through a whole lot of clothes and magazines to uncover it.
"I can take care of myself, thanks." Except he couldn't. It was something they'd get around to talking about before Jamie left for the night, but it wasn't going to be an easy discussion.
Climbing out of bed, Ryan was careful not to step on any of the broken glass on the floor - why there was broken glass on the floor, he didn't know, but it was the least of his worries right now - and wandered over to the sink to put his glass down.
Staring into the sink, he felt like throwing up.
"I'm okay," he said aloud, rinsing his glass. It shouldn't have sounded as self-reassuring as it did. He wasn't sure where to start on everything but all he needed was a couple of hallucination-free days and everything would return to normalcy again.
