And now my charms are all o'erthrown Who: Heimdall (mr_white) & Thor (wheresmyhammer) What: Heimdall visits a retired professor who talks the nice young man into going to the carnival with him and the grandkids and Heimdall makes an interesting discovery. Where: Midway Plaisance, currently in California. When: Tuesday afternoon Warnings: None
It was supposed to be a brief visit. Heimdall hadn't intended to stay longer than a couple of hours but the chatty old man just wouldn't let him leave. And now he was here. At a carnival. In California. Where it was warmer than in Cambridge which wasn't necessarily a fact that he appreciated.
He didn't frequent places like this very often, at least not voluntarily. Something about the colours and the noises made him feel uneasy. The old professor had vanished from his side some time ago and it didn't take a genius to guess what had caught the mortal's eye. Hopefully, the grandkids wouldn't catch the old man.
Wandering around he studied the rides and decided that the Ferris' Wheel looked interesting. More relaxing than the crazy upside down and inside out rides. Why mortals would subject themselves to that was a mystery to him - unless they wanted to experience first-hand what the contents of trash cans felt like when they were collected. Behind the large slow-spinning wheel was a carousel which only spun in circles - a decent compromise between the former two.
Heimdall frowned. Why was he thinking about all that? Sighing softly, he approached the brightly coloured carousel to take a closer look and because the old man had made it their meeting point should they lose sight of each other.
