I will forgive but I won't forget, and I hope you know you've lost my respect.
Who: Pride (_superbia_) [Narrative]
What: 48 hours has passed and Pride has still not heard from Lust. If Asmodeus thinks he can play Pride, he seriously ought to reconsider.
Where: Hell.
When: Sunday
Warnings: A bit of language from pissed-off Pride while he messes around with hell.
Hell was not a welcoming place, and yet Pride found himself here again. He was a man of his word, unlike the demons that ran amok in this filthy little shithole they had grown quite comfortable in.
They were like cockroaches, scampering around in the darkness; refusing to stay dead, and just when you thought you had gotten rid of your pest problem, there were hundreds more where they came from.
To say he was not happy was an understatement. He had been mildly irritated at first, but everything compounded; from having to deal with a whining heathen to having to find out Lust had already given birth only after she had been killed and the child had been abducted to having to deal with a lowly, insignificant demon who couldn't keep it in his pants - the fact that he was being driven insane with nicotine cravings was doing little to alleviate his irritation.
It was obvious that his previous visit had an effect, although subdued. The air had changed and was still changing - all he had to do this time around was accelerate it. He had an endless store of power to draw upon and demons were almost too easy to manipulate.
Pride did not take acts of belligerence against him lying down. It was not about Lust. It was never about the Sins - it was about Pride. Pride fucked mortals over, Pride fucked Lucifer over, and Pride fucked God over. If Lucifer thought he could make a deal with Pride, only to go back on his word and try and screw with the Sin, he was sadly mistaken.
They were clamouring now, the vermin of hell. Even the 'higher-ups' did not recognise the masses of demons here - Hell was a pyramid with faceless masses supporting the dukes and the dukes supporting Lucifer and Satan. Hell was nothing without its foundations.
And this was the beginnings of the war hell had declared on the eldest Sin.
Pride overflowed from the hellspawn until they turned against each other, until demonic blood that looked more like tar poured over the barren wastelands. And the more they fought against each other, the more power seeped from hell into the Sins - into Pride, into Envy, into Greed, into Gluttony, into Wrath. Without lifting a finger, Pride threw them all into disarray the way he had done when the angels warred against each other, and at this rate it wouldn't take long for those in authority to find out.
Pride was the reason they all fell. Pride was why they became demons in the first place.
Let it be said, let it be seen, let it be absolutely, undeniably clear - no one screwed with Pride.
