Who: Beelzebub and Diligence
What: Korean BBQ eating. You read that right.
Where: K-Town
When: Monday evening
Warnings: TBD?

She had been waiting for her client for nearly an hour before he canceled due to some "family emergency." Beelzebub had her money on Mr. Moneybags knocking up his mistress and wifey finding out about it. Oh mortals. Sometimes they were amusing, mostly they were annoying. Now Beelzbub was in a bad mood and hungry. She could smell the meat coming from both Chinatown and K-town, blood and rare and oh so delicious.

Tapping her heeled foot on the ground, she debated just walking in and eating alone. It wasn't that big of a deal, right?

It did look a little on the pathetic, side, however, and if Gluttony heard about it he would never let her forget it, that little bastard.

The end of the holidays and the new year, when all were returning to work made Diligence work even harder than during the holidays itself.

It wasn't that he didn't believe in a break - after all, he did reserve the time to observe the Lord's own Holy Day on Sunday - but it was the dangers of his opposite lurking in every corner, especially when it came close to go back to work.

The office that he had established himself at was only a few minutes away from Chinatown, where he would pass-by everyday to reach his apartment on the other side. It was an every day routine, but today, when he crossed the asphalt into the beginnings of the Asian community, he didn't stride ahead with confidence or in a steady pace.

Instead, he stopped.

The action itself made him slightly light-headed, but it was nothing compared to the realization that almost made him go against his very nature and walk the other way.

About to give up and eat alone, Beelzebub spotted a familiar face. Really, a familiar presence. People often thought that the demons of hell and the angels were nothing alike, that there was only animosity between them. Little did they know that most demons were fallen angels-- two sides of the same coin, just with different agendas in mind. Beelzebub didn't hate angels or Virtues; sometimes they were even more tolerable than his own brethren.

"Well, well, well. Finally gave yourself a little time off, hm?" Beelzebub approached Diligence, noticing the look on the Virtue's face. Gorgeous. This should provide some entertainment.

"Eat with me."

This was not a request.

Diligence was pretty sure that if it had been Belphegor or Sloth, he would be walking the other direction even if it had made him sick to the stomach and would probably weaken him for an entire weak.

He hadn't even recovered from his last encounter with a denizen of Hell, nevermind his own opposite.

But even so, the Hell King that the Sin Gluttony answered to was close to the worse case scenario.

"No."

He wasn't made to fight, he wasn't the strongest out of the seven. Nor did his body have the animal instinct of fight-or-flight, leaving him stuck there on the sidewalk with no where to go but forward.

His eyes closed for a brief moment before he murmured a quick prayer and started to move past Beezlebub.

Beelzebub was impressed with the little Virtue's guts. Too bad he looked like he was going to piss his pants at any moment. It kind of made his bravery a little less believable. But that was kind of cute in a way. It was cute in the way Gluttony ran around screaming when Beelzebub locked him out when it was hailing outside.

Good times.

"Don't be rude, Diligence," she was leaving no room for argument, blocking him solidly when he tried to walk away. "Eat with me."

There was a silent warning of what would happen if he said no.

His teeth bit into his bottom lip when his path was blocked - it was a bit obvious that this wasn't going to end peacefully. He had prayed for assistance, but he received none.

Maybe this was a test. If it was, he would not blame even Him for doing so. With the amount of doubts the Virtue had against himself, it was nearing unhealthy for any agent of God.

"Please," he started again, with a firmer tone. "Move out of the way."

He barely made eye contact, but he managed somehow.

"It's just a meal. Why are you getting so worked up?" Beelzebub wasn't moving. Not for a second. "Unless you're morally opposed to delicious Korean delicacies."

It was so much fun goading him.

So much fun.

"I won't even ask for your soul as payment."

"We have no souls," Diligence replied bluntly, quick to deny any human-like traits, his paranoia catching up with him.

He wondered if this was a new plan to thwart the progress he was assigned to protect and preserve. Korean food certainly was an interesting choice of diversion.

"What do you want?"

This was no lunch date and with his experience, nothing was so relatively simple.
