So, was it really out of place for Karl to show up in Times Square right in time for the countdown into another decade of his existence?
He had contemplated on asking his partner to go with him to New York for this. There were still so many untied loose ends with their last mission, that he had developed a New Year's resolution to start with the slate clean. It was a dangerous decision, granted that he had already given his partner enough material to use against him and say that one plus one, most certainly did not equal three.
But like all things recently, this trip was done on impulse, on the last minute - actually more like in the last three hours. After that stretch of time, he found himself looking for a familiar face in the crowd of hundreds.
It wasn't too hard to find her, he had become more and more attuned to her own unique presence and heat signature. It was the familiar ethnic-oriented group of people that she was talking to that slightly surprised him when he moved past a couple to end up literally right next to her.
"Higurashi, didn't know you'd be somewhere like this," he leaned down to greet her, the noise around them loud enough to make anyone go deaf.
