Iris had to think a moment before answering Zephyrus’ question. She wanted to give him the truth. Her hand reached out for his while she asked herself, really, who she was doing this for.
She didn’t much like the answer.
“No. This isn’t all for Zeus. He doesn’t need to know about most of the people whose names I have here, and even if he did, I wouldn’t have to have all this to find them. These days…..it’s easy enough to find and speak to anyone without needing a messenger.”
It had become habit, filing away addresses and names and information…..and while once it really would have been useful…….she found it became less and less so. It was more about her holding on to what she was and was supposed to be than it was about anything else.
Doing so had been all she had for a long, long time.
“It’s not really for anyone, except maybe myself.”
