He smiled. Trust her to say so little to change his mind so quickly. Did he want to know? He certainly thought he did - maybe not, actually. Would he rather just sit here and wait until whatever was going to happen would happen? Not likely. But his dispute was with Cronus, not her.
He swallowed, holding still as she laid her hands on him. How strange, this feeling. He'd spent a lot of time with women but she wasn't any other woman. For all the times she had been made out to be unkind, she was gentle. For all the times she was supposed to be evil, cruel, inhumane, he could only protest in silence.
It wasn't that he saw her for what she truly was - his parents were the last people he would ever understand. But he knew what she wasn't.
He studied her diagnosis of his current state through her eyes. It could be worse but it could be better, too.
