Who: Apate and Open What: Research Zoo trip Where: Bronx Zoo Tiger Mountain When: Friday Warnings: TBD
Outwardly, the young woman in the coat was no different from the few others that had decided to visit the zoo during the winter times. They still had events going on, and some where still eager to experience them. Apate couldn't see why. She hated this cold, wishing she where back home. Or at least indoors. But, she had come here with the intentions of learning about this place. Unlike the tourists, she hadn't just come here to get a carriage ride or to observe the animals. She'd come here to see what the best way of getting a tiger out of it's cage, without being detected, was.
Anyone could break into a zoo and steal the animal. That was easy. Apate delighted in the subtle manipulations of deceit and fraud. It was what she was. And each time she tried something new, she raised the bar for herself. And for a goddess who had taught Ponzi and Abagnale, getting a tiger out of its cage looked easy. Apate knew how easy people where, how gullible. They believed just about anything. And with the rise of identity theft and credit card fraud, Apate was at her happiest. Despite being busy with the mortal she planned on seducing, accepting Ate's 'challenge' had been a joy to her.
The mortal was easy. She'd marry him, set him up to take the fall for all the fraud she'd caused in his name and then walk away with a nice divorce settlement. Nothing as grand as she'd done once upon a time, but still entertaining. Fraud was still everywhere, and she loved it. But now, she was focused on making a plan. When she'd arrived at the parking, she'd timed exactly how long it would take to walk from a vehicle to where they kept the tigers. Then, when she'd gotten there she'd memorized the times when they talked about the animals, and how long the zoo would stay open. There was exactly an hour between the last session and the zoo's closing. More then enough time. She raised her camera, and took pictures much like any other tourist would do. Sure her focus was a little off, but she doubted anyone would notice.
Getting one of the keeper's identity would be easy. Of course, it was possible Ate would just ignore her plan and do what she liked but coming up with the deception was good enough for Apate.
