Where: Alex's friend's apartment
When: Late Saturday night, following this
Rating/Warnings: Implied sex, some language.
Alex unlocked the door to the little loft apartment and ushered them both inside, into a wide room with a big skylight, and an even bigger bed (Rob the bartender had necessities). Everything was in this one room, from stove to couch to bookshelf to closet, with a bathroom the only thing separate, but it was plenty big enough space to house everything comfortably.
He surveyed it, smiling again (always), and let his hand rest at the small of Mordred's back. "He even cleaned. It's fate."
"I guess so." Mordred leaned against him again, sliding an arm around his waist. "I'm staying with my brother, and it's about half this size, or I wouldn't have made you impose."
"Absolutely fine. Don't worry about it." Alex slipped his backpack off his shoulder, moving away from Mordred for a moment, and let his jacket drop on a chair.
He let go, watching appreciatively. "If you insist."
"I do."
There was a fridge in one corner--he went over, rummaged around the beer and hard cider, and found a bottle of Coke. "My turn to drink, now."
Mordred laughed. "Fair enough." He slid the phone out of his pocket, and dropped into a chair.
Alex joined him a minute later, and moved his chair around so it was right next to Mordred's. "We're going to have a good night."
"You think so?" smiling at him.
"Yeah. That's my educated opinion."
"Good to have an expert on hand," he said, straight-faced.
Alex laughed, reached over, and pulled him close for a kiss. Mordred leaned into it, settling into his arms as if he belonged there. When the kiss broke he laughed again. "Right, how does it go? Hello, I love you, tell me your name?"
"Alex. Yours?"
"Mike. Are you always this accommodating, or did I luck out?"
"You lucked out." Which was kind of a lie, and kind of not--lately Alex hadn't been going much further than flirting with most people (stuck on Alana again). He slipped his hand up the back of Mordred's shirt.
"'S about time, then," a little huskily, but presumably in answer. He shifted to get a better angle, and dropped a kiss against Alex's neck.
Alex pushed forward against him, closing his eyes and running his fingers down Mordred's back and beneath the waist of his trousers.
Some while later, in the sudden quiet, Mordred rolled back against the pillow, still a little breathless. "Oh, man." His hand slid into Alex's, as if by accident, and pressed it.
"Hey." Alex turned onto his side and smiled, snugging his arm over Mordred's waist.
"Hey yourself," smiling back hazily.
"That was amazing." He let his eyes close again.
Mordred laughed, sounding bemused. "Years of practice, right?"
Sleepily, "That it?"
"I don't know, maybe you're just gifted. Rest of us have to work at it." A kiss brushed his shoulder.
"Mmmm." Suddenly he sat up, bracing himself on his hands. "Oh, fuck. Fuck. Hang on--"
"What? --okay--"
"Sorry-- my fault--" He wiped his hands over his eyes to wake himself up better, and slipped over to the chair where he'd tossed his backpack, a little clumsily. In the side pocket was a bottle of orange-banded capsules.
Mordred propped himself on one arm, watching him. "You okay?"
Alex turned and smiled again, reaching for the bottle of slightly flat Coke. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine."
"Okay." Mordred sank back again, reassured if not wholly convinced.
He took the pill and rubbed his hands over his face again, a little harder. Dammit. "There, no problem," returning to the bed and sliding back under the covers.
"You sure?" slipping an arm around him again.
"Yeah." A tiny smile. "Just didn't want to miss a dose."
Mordred said nothing to that, only settled close again. Slowly, Alex relaxed, and tucked himself equally close. "Thanks," whispered.
"Hey. Not a problem." Whatever it was. But Mordred had his own secrets; had been grateful, in his time, for lovers who asked no questions. He kissed Alex's shoulder, quiet.
Which only let Alex relax further, and he leaned a little, gratefully; his ubiquitous smile returned. "I'm tired. Sleep with me."
"I can do that." If Gaheris really needed anything, he'd find a way to call. Right? Right.
"Good," fondly.
