The building was glorious, not because it was yet another square of metal and glass in a city of metal and glass, but because the walls of glass powered (for the most part) the very company which designed and built them. The power of the sun even in a city where the smog and the shadows of other buildings block it from the light. It was magnificent and she loved it all the more for the fact that it was blossoming in the shade.
In the center of the building was a solarium, an area covered only by sheets of glass filled with plants, a babbling brook, a koi pond and a few small places of privacy and introspection. It was a tropical paradise within the winter-kissed city, isolated and yet in the middle of things. She thought that her 'guest' would enjoy it.
Lunch had been ordered from a nearby restaurant that delivered and she was quietly setting things up at a small table that overlooked the pool of water beyond and the large, glittering fish that swam within it. "So, tell me what you think so far?"
