Who: Jazz and the extended Music "family" (and their significant others if they so choose) What: Thanksgiving! When: Late afternoon/evening November 26 Where: Jazz's apartment Warnings: Language and a whole lot of drama
It had been a very long week. The apartment had to be cleaned from top to bottom, everything that could act as a seat or table had to be dragged out to the living room, and the cooking had to be started two days before if there was to be enough for everyone. (Of course, Jazz's idea of what woudl be enough was vastly different from most.) She spent enough money on alcohol and groceries to pay her rent for the month and had to be up by six to make sure everything was ready, but finally she was all set for the big day.
The entire apartment smelled of roasting turkey and stuffing, sweet potatoes liberally dosed with cinnamon and butter, and the sticky-sweet aromas of three different kinds of pieThe promised bourbon, as well as a few bottles of other liquors, sat on the counter that separated kitchen and living room. Mixers and nonalcoholic drinks were in the fridge, jostling for shelf space with side dishes that had yet to be cooked. Freshly polished and tuned, an old upright piano took up one corner of the living room, lid up in anticipation of the songs to be played. .
And Jazz? She was everywhere at once. She was in the kitchen sliding the turkey out of the oven to eye it critically, pouring drinks, and answering the door, all in a blur of swishing red skirts and delighted laughter. Every arrival was greeted with a hug and kisses to both cheeks, Jazz as pleased to see one as she was to see another. Her babies were all together and damn it, this would be a good day if it killed them.
[OOC: Okay, y'all, here it is! I posted early because I know a lot of us will have our own plans on the holiday. Get your characters mingling! If anybody wants a specific thread with Jazz, put it in the title of your post and I will be all over it! I know that I, for one, want one with Jazz/Scene, Jazz/Blues, and Jazz/Classic(Hippie?) at the very least. Have fun!]
