Demeter was not one who dwelled underground, but one who dwelled above and encouraged life. She was a nature goddess, holding within her hands the changing of the seasons. But Hecate had helped her to search for her daughter long ago, and all those who had done so had Demeter's eternal gratitude and love.
She knocked gently on the door, a basket of freshly baked bread in her arms. She couldn't go to anyone's house without a gift of food and tonight was no different.
