Who: Boreas and Orithyia What: A little bit of conversation. Where:The Juliana When: Sunrise, Sunday Nov 1st. Warnings: TBA
Going away had been a good idea. Every night with Boreas was special, but there was just something about going away which allowed Orithyia to really concentrate on him - and she loved that, she loved making him happy. This little cottage on Lake George had a beautiful view of the lake and the trees... but they hadn't spent much time admiring it.
And now she was in bed, unable to sleep. What she'd written to him was true. She was scared to close her eyes at night. And the long days while he worked and she... didn't... it was a constant battle to reign in apprehension, and the fear that he wouldn't come home. Orithyia was determined to enjoy it, to enjoy each day with Boreas like it would never happen again... because if he left her again, if he didn't come back...
She loved him, but she couldn't go through this again. She didn't know how Iris did it. So she tip-toed around him. She didn't tell him that she missed her job, that she hated Manhattan, or anything else that she thought would upset him. There were good aspects to everything that she didn't like! Not having a job gave her... plenty of time to think about what she'd like to do, and to take care of Boreas. Manhattan was just, chalk full of immortals and family and that was... well, mostly good. And she didn't mind not talking about her past. That part of her seemed very small around him, anyway.
But now Will was back, and he wanted to meet Boreas, and... Orithyia sighed. There was no way she was falling back asleep. It was almost sunrise, anyway. Careful to not wake her sleeping husband, Orithyia slipped out of bed. She picked up his discarded shirt from the floor and slid it over her naked body, casually buttoning a few of the middle buttons. It fell about mid-thigh and smelled of him.
She flipped the collar up as she walked over to the window seat. Quietly opening the blinds, Orithyia settled into the seat to watch the sun rise over the lake.
