Karl was too close to Alyssa to not notice the nod of her head, which he put away the information for a later time. Truth be told, the moment that he had stepped into the building, whether or not it was because of the machines that surrounded him, Karl was more than aware of his surroundings than usual.
"Okay." Karl stepped back, forgetting that Matt wouldn't have and gave her some space. "There's an exit down that hallway," he pointed. "Should lead you out to the front."
Despite the fact that there may have been security cameras watching the scene, Karl still didn't make a move like Matt would, instead giving Alyssa a nod and a smile that was more than often shared between them through office hallways than in shady storage rooms, starting to walk away. Despite the entire ordeal of being undercover, Karl couldn't still be self-conscious about himself, the reality hitting him harder than it should because of those three little words said second beforehand.
"I'll see you later," he said with a wave before turning away completely, the smile immediately dropping from his face.
"What the hell was that?" hissed Matt as they both passed the lines of cars being torn apart.
