Like a boy stumbling around like he was had a legal guardian like you. Alex had no last name, and could scarcily be persuaded to put on clothes. Dev found it extremely hard to believe he had come from anywhere as organized as this woman apparently was.
The no pants detail was a good one, one no doubt meant to invite her to disclose exactly what she knew - but too much had happened to Dev in too short a period of time to make her feel like confiding in someone she instinctively did not trust. And even as Dev blushed a little in remembrance of exactly how she had found Alex, her eyes narrowed slightly.
She didn't know where Hannah Sato was going with this or what this woman wanted from her - or, more importantly, Alex - but she wasn't going to give her any ammunition to hurt him. Licking her lips, Dev stood her ground. "Umm. Look, I don't mean any offense or anything... but how do I know what you're telling me is true? You don't look like you're related to him at all..."
A hard light appeared in her eyes for a moment, and then her tongue was running away without her permission, "And if you are in charge of him - then I'm not sure I should tell you anything, considering how he was when I found him."
