"No, not long at all. Just signed the tenancy contract a few months ago. It's quieter here, and the islands are surrounded by water. I had planned on moving to Lahaina, but it just so happened that a dilapidated house just down the road on a large piece of land went up for sale. It's nothing but grass there now, but it's where I plan to build my own place."
That was probably more than Triton wanted to hear, but he thought his son might be interested in the work-in-progress home. A rental property just... felt like someone else's home, and though times long past were now long gone, it didn't mean that he could not start from scratch again and rebuild a home that was once just a dream.
"I really like it here, Triton," he said, glancing out of the window. He could see the ocean from here, and hear the waves slowly scrape the layers of sand away.
