The air was filled with a mixture of sweat, alcohol, nicotine and money. Karl found it rather suiting, actually, now that he thought about the target's profile, that this would be a place he would eventually come to.
He received plenty of looks, the majority being non-friendly from his size no doubt, but he didn't come here looking for a fight. He wasn't going to steal anyone's woman, or argue about covering beer tabs.
He just wanted some answers.
And he got one. Right off the bat. Only a couple of meters in front of him, moving slowly down the pole and then upwards. Though for a couple of minutes, he wasn't exactly sure if it was the one he was looking for.
Trying not to linger too long in surprise at his partner's cover - at least he hoped it was a cover - Karl took up a bar napkin and a pen from inside his jacket. In a couple of minutes time with the napkin folded up with a twenty, he walked over to where Alyssa was and tried his best to look "interested". Which almost failed miserably if he wasn't so good at being someone different every decade or so.
Pulling up a chair, Karl beckoned her closer with what looked like a wad of twenties and ones.
