'I appreciate it, Envy.' High praise indeed from the eldest Sin. Were he Gluttony, he would have rolled over onto his back, belly exposed for disemboweling. Were he Greed, he would have said something which was equal parts crude and charming.
But he was Envy, so instead he contemplated Pride with dark eyes which coveted ceaselessly and were never satisfied.
"Do. But for the love of God, turn left when you leave. There's a mirrored wall to the right, and I'd hate for you to be left loitering in my hall the entire day."
He said the words and managed to come across as impassive, borderline droll. But Envy had seen that minute expression flicker across Pride's face, and naturally his first response was irritation. It was, alas, part of his great weakness -- a morbid fascination with Pride.
