There must have been numerous things Envy was thinking about - information Pride was not privy though, even if he had to admit that the slight eyebrow crease had to do with a modicum of curiosity.
Pride did not think his ask was as drastic as going against Envy's nature. Unless Envy defined meddling in others' affairs to be part of his nature. From where Pride stood, Envy wouldn't be Envy once he got everything he sought after.
And as unfulfilling as that seemed, it was more or less the basis of all the Sins. Dissatisfaction with what one possessed, with who one possessed, with what other people possessed...
He pushed his chair back and stood up slowly, and perhaps Envy caught the slight of smiles fleeting across his features.
"I don't want you to do anything because I came down to your office and told you so." If it were anyone else Pride might have been more direct and said that he did not want any more dogs wagging their tails going along with everything he said just because he was apparently the more authoritative figure.
"I came to make a case. I want you to understand why I'm telling you this and make your own decision."
