Who: Nemesis and OPEN Where: a coffee shop When: Thursday afternoon Rating/Warnings: PG as far as I know
Nemesis went out for a late lunch. She figured she deserved that much. It had been a pretty crazy couple of days for her. She'd gone to testify in court, subsequently heard that the criminal - and he was definitely a criminal, she didn't care what anyone else had to say - had gotten off because of some little loophole in the law. She hated lawyers. She just had to keep telling herself that so that she didn't blow up in someone's face. The whole system was pretty stupid and definitely needed a major change. Maybe she should become a politician next.
She laughed a little wryly, which earned her a strange look from the girl at the counter. "Sorry," she said.
"What would you like?" the girl asked, trying valiantly not to look at her like she was crazy.
"What do you suggest?" Nemesis asked, looking at the menu on the wall.
"Um."
Nemesis rolled her eyes. "Never mind. I'll have your ambrosia wrap." So she was amused by the irony. It could be worse. She grabbed an apple juice and placed it on the counter.
The girl punched buttons on the cash register, then patiently waited while Nemesis fished around for her credit card. "Coming right up," she said when Nemesis had swiped it.
"Thanks." Nemesis moved to the side to wait for her order.
