Nightmarish images of disfigured and mutilated bodies unfolded before his eyes. Body parts, drenched in blood, were littering the ground. Blood. It was everywhere, and was that a kidney? That soft thing over there was definitely a liver.
Amidst the carnage stood a tall man. Tyki stepped closer to find out who it was. Curiosity and mild terror were fighting for dominance and his body was screaming at him to run, but the curiosity won out.
"Excuse me?" the brunet called out and froze on the spot when the other man turned around. The first thing he noticed was the heart in the stranger's hand. It was still beating. Slightly awed Tyki lifted his gaze from the throbbing heart to the man's face and saw Kane smiling back at him. His chest began to hurt...
Gasping, the incubus startled awake and sat up - eyes wide, his hair plastered to his damp forehead. Damn incompetent witches!
He glanced at Kane's sleeping form and shook his head, laughing softly at his mind and the strange ideas it threw at him sometimes. "Wake up, pet." Tyki pulled the blanket halfway down and, resisting the urge to just shove him out of bed, brushed a light kiss across Kane's shoulder.
