He had never been to a carnival, and with all the people there, he might never have. It was interesting, though, and it may even have been more enjoyable if he hadn’t felt so distinctly aware of each person he’d come here with. Keeping track of them all wasn’t exactly necessary, he knew. They were all very capable of taking care of themselves, and anyone in the crowd who chose to interfere with one of them would soon regret it.
Triton knew this, but still, Triteia was his daughter, and he could not help keeping an eye on her. Athena was his daughter, and on top of that, he knew what it was like between her and Ares. Ares himself…….meant a great deal to him, something he knew Athena didn’t approve of, and which he still hadn’t completely let go off, despite his daughters, the return of Aphrodite, and Amaterasu. Amaterasu, beside him, calmed him, made him happy. Ares had managed to do much the same but in a different way, and having them both here with the addition of his daughters was…….a lot.
So, even as he’d watched the fire eater, he was completely aware of Ares and Triteia to his side and in the front, Amaterasu close beside him, and Athena hanging slightly back. Making sure everyone was in the right place, beside the right person, at the right distance away was difficult enough without the fact that he wanted them all to be happy, that he cared about them all. If he didn’t watch them all, it was perfectly likely they would take care to keep away from the wrong person anyway, but just the same, he couldn’t help it. Triton found himself hoping they found a tent soon, one with a show where they would all have seats to settle into.
